Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers in South Lake Tahoe, CA

What are Dermal Fillers?
As part of the natural aging process, the face gradually loses volume, which can lead to flattening of facial contours, skin laxity, and the development of lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are carefully injected into the soft tissues beneath the skin to address these concerns. Most dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps support collagen and elastin while maintaining hydration and structural integrity. Dermal fillers are an effective option for restoring lost volume, smoothing the skin, and enhancing facial contours to achieve balanced, natural-looking results.
Your medical history will be reviewed to make sure you are an appropriate candidate for Dermal Fillers. Your provider will review all information about the treatment with you and will be able to answer any questions you may have.
Topical numbing cream or ice may be used to make the treatment injections more comfortable. The results are instant and will last between 6 - 24 months on average depending on which Dermal Filler product is used. Some swelling and bruising are common side effects from the treatment and typically resolve in about a week.

FAQ
What's the difference between Dermal Fillers and Botox?
Dermal Fillers and Botox are complementary treatments that are often used together but they act differently. Botox is a medication that prevents muscles from contracting and making dynamic lines resulting in a smoother appearance – this is typically in the upper face. Dermal Fillers are volumizing agents (no affect on the muscles) that restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and contour the face – these are typically used in the mid and lower face.
How much is it going to cost?
Every face and degree of volume loss is different so we will need our provider to assess you prior to giving you an exact cost for treatment. Dermal Fillers are sold by the syringe and most are around $600 per syringe on average.
Discounts are offered for multi-syringe treatments ($100 off each syringe after the 1st) and package discounts are offered for full-face or lower-face rejuvenation (typically $500-$1000 off depending on the size of the package).
For a price approximation:
average dosing for common areas include -
Lips: 1 syringe
Nasolabial Folds: 1 syringe
Marionette Lines: 1-2 syringes
Cheeks: 1-3 syringes
Tear trough: 1 syringe
Chin: 1-2 syringes
Jawline: 1-4 syringes
Again, your recommended dosing could be more or less than these averages and the provider will be able to give you exact recommendations at the visit once they are able to visualize your degree of volume loss.
