What is Microneedling?

The Skin Pen is the world’s first FDA-cleared microneedling device. Microneedling is a great treatment for skin resurfacing as well as a leading treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, reducing pore size, and filling in acne scars. The SkinPen treatment works in three simple steps which activate the skin’s natural healing processes:

  1. Inflammation: hundreds to thousands of tiny needle punctuations occur every second creating a controlled inflammatory response for wound repair, removing debris, increasing blood flow, and creating new tissue.

  2. Proliferation: the micro-wounds created are rebuilt with new granulation cells that include collagen proteins. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.

  3. Remodeling: The micro-wounds are replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels which are comprised or rich collagen and elastin proteins. These proteins improve skin youthfulness.

Your medical history will be reviewed to make sure you are an appropriate candidate for Microneedling. Your provider will review all information about the treatment with you and will be able to answer any questions you may have.
You will put on a topical numbing cream 35 minutes prior to the appointment to ensure the treatment will be comfortable. The treatment will take approximately 30-45 minutes. A complimentary stem cell serum will be applied after the treatment. Your skin will appear moderately sunburned for the next 1-2 days and some skin flaking may occur. You may see immediate smoothing in the first week and will continue to see improvement up to three to six months as collagen continues to remodel.

How many treatments will I need?
We recommend starting with 3 treatments separated by 1 month apart each - this will get you to a great starting point. Then, future treatments will be as needed dependent on each clients needs. Some clients come in every 2-3 months routinely to continue to turn over their skin and some clients come twice a year - it's all dependent on how your skin responds. 

Am I a candidate for Microneedling?

What about a vampire facial or PRP?
